Cook and Farmer Contribute

Kiss the Cook and the Farmer Too is a 13-part public television series that is an investment in the welfare of the general population. The series development employs a strategy for viewership loyalty and mass distribution while covering the most important food issues of our time. In each program a regional chef shows us how to prepare a delicious meal from organic ingredients local to his or her community. Stories of the ingredients take us to farms, fishing ports, ranches, vineyards, dairies, and school cafeterias.

The series illustrates ways in which the choices we make about what we eat affect our health, the health of our communities, and the world environment. How can we eat well and live in harmony with the earth? Practical answers to this question are the heart of each program, along with tips for supporting sustainable food production and distribution. Videos for preparing and cooking each menu in the series will be available on the series’ website.

JUNE 4, 2011 FUNDING EVENT
All proceeds from tickets and donations for the Savory Thymes Event went directly to support the television series. We raised $24,000 in seed money for series developmen though our fiscal sponsor, Community Works West.
